Headwind MDM installer for Ubuntu Linux
Download this installer if you are setting up a new instance of Headwind MDM. A recommended OS to install Headwind MDM is Ubuntu Linux 24.04 LTS.
Users of Headwind MDM v5 (legacy) can migrate to the new version by calling the migrate.sh script. We recommend taking a snapshot of the whole server before upgrading.
Android application (launcher)
Keep the Headwind MDM mobile agent up-to-date to get most recent features and bugfixes.
To avoid major faults, please test the new version on a test group of devices before updating all devices!

Web panel, WAR file
Keep the web panel up-to-date to get most recent features and bugfixes.
Notice: this version is not compatible with Tomcat 9. To upgrade the legacy version of Headwind MDM (5.xx.x), download the new installer and call the migrate.sh script. We recommend taking a snapshot of the whole server before upgrading.

Web panel v5 (legacy)
This version uses deprecated technologies (AngularJS, Java EE) and doesn’t work on Tomcat 10+ and modern Ubuntu releases. It will end its life in December 2026.

Plugins
Plugins are supplementary Android apps which must be installed as APK files through the web panel.
Note: if you’re attempting to install Headwind MDM plugins outside of Headwind MDM launcher, they will not work. You need to setup a launcher first, and then install plugins through the web panel.
Dockerized MDM
By using an official Docker image for Headwind MDM, you can run Headwind MDM on any Linux distro.
